When our friend Jen Zavala from the amazing Juana Tamale restaurant handed us a bag of true Conico Azul seeds from Puebla, Mexico, we didn't know what to expect. What grew out were the tallest corn stalks we've ever seen. Some corn reached 20' tall, and most of the ears rival footballs in size. The ears were so far up in the air, our pesky deer couldn't reach them. What a bonus! Keep that in mind as you grow this corn, you should give yourself enough time (110 days) for maturity and consider the height would need wind protection.

This is a fantastic corn and it makes beautiful blue-purple masa, absolutely perfect for tortillas.

These seeds come directly from our small farm here in Fallsington, PA. This particular variety was lovingly grown at our corn plots in Fallsington to ensure isolation.
