Introduced in 1869, Turks Turban is a great heirloom squash that ranges in many colors that stripe across the fruits. The turban-like cap is on the blossom end. Vigorous vines produce thin, hard shell fruits measuring 10-15" in diameter and weighing 3-5 lb at maturity. Thick, sweet golden yellow flesh has an excellent flavor for roasting, baking, steaming or used in soups and stews. Popular as fall decorations.
